Notes: The bald cypress is a versatile medium sized tree that is adaptable to a wide range of growing conditions. Typically associated with swamp and wetlands, the bald cypress also does well on well drained upland sites and is often found in yards and other manicured landscape situations. The ability to produce the famous cypress knees allows the trees to withstand extended periods of inundation. The bald cypress is a handsome resilient tree that can be placed on wet sites in the landscape and thrive.

Bark: Reddish brown and fibrous with the trunk becoming significantly buttressed especially on wet sites, Unless extremely wet and needed for gastric exchanges, the famous knees will not be in evidence.
