Notes: The Lacebark Pine is a fine specimen tree outstanding for its showy bark characteristics. It is a small tree that should be placed at the corners of buildings or in areas where the bark can be seen. The tree may break up under heavy ice and snow conditions, but has adapted very well in the Athens-Atlanta area. Imported from China in 1846, the Lacebark Pine is a slow grower often developing multiple stems. Its primary value is in landscape utilization, with little or no other commercial value.

Bark: Exfoliating in patches like sycamore. Young stems greenish with white or brown patches throughout. The Lacebark Pine is a striking pine for bark character.
